BCR Welcomes New Digital Initiatives Trainer
Anne Marie Lyons has joined BCR as digital initiatives trainer, filling a newly created position in BCR Training & OCLC Services. She also will be working with BCR's new Digital Preservation Services division, expanding the digitization training opportunities available to BCR members and others throughout the cultural heritage and library communities.
Of her new position, Lyons says, "Digital projects present different challenges to different organizations. I'm very much looking forward to working with archives, libraries, museums and cultural heritage organizations, and exploring how digitization practices can be adapted to each organization's individual needs so they have new opportunities to share their wonderful collections with the rest of world."
As digital initiatives trainer, Lyons will be conducting online and in-person training in digital project planning, digital capture, metadata schemas and digital preservation. She has extensive experience in training and digital practices, and as BCR's newest staff member, is a valuable addition to both the expanding digitization and training program and the BCR team.
Before joining BCR, Lyons worked for National Public Radio and the National Security Archive, Washington, D.C. Her library experience includes work at the Van Deusen Post Library, the Picatinny Arsenal and Rutgers University, all in New Jersey. She earned her MLIS at Rutgers and her BA in English at the College of Saint Elizabeth.
